Biotech 2004 Symposium Being Held on November 4-5, 2004

The Biotech 2004 Symposium: "Trends and Partnerships" will focus attention on the workforce needs of the biotechnology industry. This national symposium will be held at Florida Community College in Jacksonville through funding from Workforce Florida to the Florida Consortium for Biotechnology Workforce Development. Keynote presenters include Elaine Johnson, Director of Bio-Link, John Rogers, President of EcoArray and CEO of BioFlorida, Mary Pat Huxley, State Director of California's Community College Biotech Initiative, Sam Durrance, Executive Director of the Florida Space Research Institute at the Kennedy Space Center, and Ervin Owens, Scripps Florida Human Resources Manager. Several moderated panel sessions will feature discussions on creating a national center for the Biotechnology workforce, workforce and economic development best practices, industry and educational partnerships, and the North Carolina statewide biotech plan.
